- Print, complete, and return the Play Care Application
- Read and understand the following checklist below to find out if your dog is eligible to join us:
- Vaccinations Current? Please provide a copy of your dog’s record of vaccinations and fecal test from your vet. All dogs must have a current record of vaccinations on file with Walks and Wags. This includes:
- bordatella (kennel cough),
- DHPP (distemper, Hepatitis, Para influenza, Parvovirus)
- rabies at 6 months
- Old enough? Your dog must be age 16 weeks or older
- Spayed or Neutered? All dogs must be spayed or neutered over 6 months of age (some exceptions)
- Healthy dog? All dogs must be in good health and have not been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days. Dogs that have been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days will require a veterinarian’s certification of health to be admitted or re-admitted to Play Care. On admission or readmission, all dogs must be free from any condition that could potentially jeopardize other guests. A negative result on a recent fecal test is required.
- Well behaved dog? All dogs must be non-aggressive towards dogs or humans. We conduct a simple temperament test at your consultation. Private training arrangements are available if you need help improving your dog’s behavior.
- Is your account current? Fees are $25 per day $22.50 for second dog. All fees are due in advance.
- Are you available these hours? Monday through Friday, from 7:30am – 5:30 pm (ask about our other options)
- Have you made reservations? Reservations are required. If your dog comes once a week (minimum Play Care commitment), try to keep to that day so your dog is familiar with their dog buddies. Cancellations with less than 24-hour advanced notice will be charged the full fees.
- Play Care Application and Checklist complete? Call (251) 643-1615 to schedule an appointment to review your Play Care Application, read and sign additional paperwork, and perform a simple, playful temperament test.
What to expect?
Your dog can be dropped off at our dog day care between 7:30 am – 9:30 am and picked up between 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm. Your dog’s day will consist of supervised play on agility equipment, jumping in splash pools of water (during warm weather), or just running around with friends and playing with toys. They have nap time, get a treat, and then play until pick-up time.
At Walks and Wags, Inc. we provide the best environment for your dog to socialize and feel safe. Our playful environment is a result of dogs getting to know each other during repeated visits. This occurs by reducing stress of meeting new and unfamiliar dog’s everyday. To ensure this, we ask you make an initial eight week commitment to the same day(s) each week.
